Secret Pal Guidelines - Thanks!!
Secret Pal Gift Swap InformationOk, everyone get ready for some retail therapy!! This will hopefully help to keep our minds off of the wait and before we know it our babies will be in our arms!!
How It Works:
Each month, you'll send a special gift to your secret pal, and receive a gift from your secret pal, according to a monthly theme. See the Monthly Themes page for the themes.
How Much Should I Spend:
Each month's gift should be about $15 (not including shipping cost).
How Do I Know What My Secret Pal Wants:
Since a couple of our categories, particularly Books and Videos/DVDs/CDs, could be tough since many of us have likely started buying these types of things. Kim and I would like to recommend that you create a Wish List at Amazon.com. If you choose to do so, please post to the link to it on the blog so your secret pal knows to go check it out!
When Should I Send My Secret Pal's Gift:
Since we want everyone to receive their gift by the end of the month, please be sure to mail your gift by the 20th of the month at the very latest. For example, September's gift should be mailed by September 20...
Please don't forget because your secret pal will be so sad and Kim or I will have to send you email reminders which will just flood your email soooo don't forget! This activity is meant to brighten everyone's day and give us each something to look forward to each month.
How Do I Keep My Identity Secret:
You may send emails to your swap coordinator for your secret pal (for encouragement or for fun) and she'll send them on for you. Your swap coordinator is the person who sent you your secret pal's information. Kim had half the list, I had the other.
For the return address of your package, I think there are a couple options here. You can use the return address the same as the shipping address or you can put just your address as the return address and just not put your name on there. Or if you are ordering items on line I believe you can specify anyonymous return address (at least from Amazon I believe you can do this)...
What If I Can No Longer Participate:
We really hope that everyone who has signed up is committed to the program through July 2007. You will have the same pal through referral time, so if you sign up and you cannot keep your commitment, please let your swap coordinator know asap so we can notify the person that is supposed to send the gift to you should instead send it to the person you were supposed to send to! Took me awhile to wrap my brain around that one when Kim explained it to me but it really is pretty simple. Still, lets not go there if we can at all avoid it!!
How Do I Acknowledge That I Received My Gift:
When you receive your gift, please post to the July '06 DTC Secret Pal blog. This will let your secret pal know that you received the gift. If you have a digital camera, it would be fun to post a picture of what you got so the rest of the group could see too!!
Packages:
On the outside (or inside) of your package, please make sure you indicate that it is from the July 2006 DTC Fireflies group, in case people are participating in more than one gift swap group.
